This Shiva temple is one the seven Sapta sthana temples of Tanjavur. It is located at Punnainallur near Tanjavur. It is one of the 88 Tanjavur Palace Devasthana temples. It is located to the south of the famous Punnainallur Maariamman temple. This temple was rebuilt by the Maratha king Shri Vyankoji maharaj of Tanjavur. The present structure is about 500 years old. This is a very small beautiful temple.

Koshtamurtis: Shri Ganesha, Shri Dakshinamurti, Shri Bhairava, Shri Bramha & Shri Durga Devi.
To the left of Shri Shiva’s shrine, we find the shrine of Shri Kalyansundari Devi. In the parikrama we find the shrines and idols of Shri Ganesha, Shri Aiyappa, Shri Subramanya with his consorts, Shri Gajalakshmi Devi, Shri Anjaneya, Navagrahas, Shri Shaneeshwar, Shri Bhairava, Shri Surya and Shri Chandra.
