Assert if actual equal to expected

The testing of any kind of product is about comparing actual behavior with expected behavior. If these two do not match then the result of the test is marked as failed, else as succeeded. Ultimately it is the end consumer who drives the expected behavior of the product. So all the efforts of testing and refining product are to make consumer of the product happy. Only when the consumer is happy then the product and organization can stay in the market for long and enjoy the good name and profit.

So is with human beings. There are set of expected behaviors for the senses and human being in general. The test of human behavior is also about comparing actual behavior with expected behavior. If these do not match then one can be said to have failed, else succeeded. Success of the product is measured in terms of net profit to the organization and the number of repeating customers or essentially good name in the market. Success of human being is also measured in terms of good name in the society. The benefit of good name is not limited to the person alone who achieves it but parents and the entire lineage of that person including teachers get good name as well.

Saints who themselves achieved good name in the society, based on their experiences, have defined expected behavior for the humans. They say - that eye alone is the real eye which sees God in everything; that head alone deserves to be styled as such, which bows to mother, father and teachers regarding them as the very image of God; that speech alone is worth the name through which one sings God’s praises; those hands alone which do service to God deserve to be called as hands. Only those persons who sacrifice entire life in the service of God can be said to have succeeded in achieving the real goal of human birth.

More than body it is the mind that needs examination and refining, because senses derive the inspiration from the mind. Once mind is purified, bodily actions automatically get purified.

Chanting the name of God is the most simple and best exercise to keep mind and hence senses in control and in the direction prescribed by scriptures.
