Saptasthanam Temples around Thiruvaiyarur

In the last article, we mentioned about clusters of seven temples called Saptasthanam. We listed 10 such clusters in Tamil Nadu. One of those clusters is Saptasthana temples around Thiruvaiyarur.

These Saptasthana temples around Thiruvaiyarur are also referred as temples associated with Lord Nandi’s marriage which was performed by Lord Shiva. He took the divine couple to these places as a sort of Thanksgiving for the help rendered by the people for Nandi’s marriage. 

Those seven temples are as follows:

1. Shri Aiyar-appar temple at Thiruvaiyar
2. Shri Apathsahyar temple at Thirupazhanam
   
3. Shri Odhanavaneshwarar Temple at Thiruchotruthurai
4. Shri Vedapurishwarar Temple at Thiruvedikudi 
5. Shri Puvananathar Temple at Thiruppoonthruthi 
6. Shri Brahmashirakandiswarar Temple at Thirukandiyur
7. Shri Neyyadiappar Temple at Thillaisthanam
